Our Krijn is the Zeeland creuse introduced by our great-greatgrandfather Pieter Verwijs in 1880. Almost a century later, his grandson Krijn decided to continue the company and its production independently, under the name Krijn Verwijs. That is why our Zeeland creuse is called: Krijn. They are cultivated at the bottom of the Oosterschelde and Lake Grevelingen. This is where they get their rugged appearance and briny flavour.
